| Kurzbeschreibung | dBase war eine der ersten Datenbanken mit einer eigenen Entwicklungsumgebung auf PC's. Die letzte Version dbase V wird als dBase classic weiter vertrieben und benötigt eine DOS-Emulation. Das aktuelle Produkt ist aber dBase Plus. | Open source RDBMS, das zu MySQL anwendungskompatibel ist und zusätzliche Features wie Hochverfügbarkeit, Security, Interoperabilität und Performanceverbesserungen aufweist. Mit MariaDB ColumnStore bietet es auch eine spaltenorientierte storage engine | Microsoft Access kombiniert ein Backend (JET bzw. ACE Engine) mit einem grafischen Frontend zur Datenabfrage bzw. Datenmanipulation.
