Created as commercial project in 2013, FoundationDB has been acquired by Apple in March 2015 and was withdrawn from the market. As a consequence, the product was removed from the DB-Engines ranking. In April 2018, Apple open-sourced FoundationDB and it therefore reappears in the ranking.
Description | CockroachDB is a distributed database architected for modern cloud applications. It is wire compatible with PostgreSQL and backed by a Key-Value Store, which is either RocksDB or a purpose-built derivative, called Pebble. | Cloud-hosted realtime document store. iOS, Android, and JavaScript clients share one Realtime Database instance and automatically receive updates with the newest data. | Ordered key-value store. Core features are complimented by layers. | Analytic Database platform built on PostgreSQL. Full name is Pivotal Greenplum Database A logical database in Greenplum is an array of individual PostgreSQL databases working together to present a single database image. | In-memory JavaScript DBMS
