While there were no changes in the ranks among the top 10 tools compared to last month, we do see a continuation of some trends when we look at the score:
PostgreSQL increases the gap to DB2 at rank #4, while MongoDB at rank #6 is quite close now to gain another rank.
A bit further down we see other popular NoSQL systems gaining points: Cassandra, Redis, Memcached, CouchDB and Riak all increased their popularity, some of them also made a step up in the ranking.
Amongst the biggest winners this month we also find tools that have been around for much longer, for example MarkLogic and Hazelcast.
The most popular new entries are the Advantage Database Server by Sybase at rank #54 and Northgate Reality, just making it in the top 100.
For further results, please have a look at the complete ranking of all 204 systems.
Although we think we have reached a quite good coverage of the DBMS industry in our ranking, we will continue adding new systems. Any proposals are always very welcome.
