Created as commercial project in 2013, FoundationDB has been acquired by Apple in March 2015 and was withdrawn from the market. As a consequence, the product was removed from the DB-Engines ranking. In April 2018, Apple open-sourced FoundationDB and it therefore reappears in the ranking.
DescriptionA distributed analytics engine for big data, providing a SQL interface and multi-dimensional analysis (OLAP) and leveraging the Hadoop stackFast and scalable multi-model DBMS, originally forked from OrientDB but most of the code has been rewrittenOrdered key-value store. Core features are complimented by layers.GridGain is an in-memory computing platform, built on Apache Ignite
