There is an unrelated product called SimpleDB developed by Edward Sciore

MySQL fork with a pluggable micro-kernel and with an emphasis of performance over compatibility.

Industrial-strength, open-source database solution built from the ground up for event sourcing.

High-performance, in-memory, MPP database specifically designed for in-memory analytics.
