Created as commercial project in 2013, FoundationDB has been acquired by Apple in March 2015 and was withdrawn from the market. As a consequence, the product was removed from the DB-Engines ranking. In April 2018, Apple open-sourced FoundationDB and it therefore reappears in the ranking.
Description | MaxCompute (previously known as ODPS) is a general purpose, fully managed, multi-tenancy data processing platform for large-scale data warehousing | Hosted simple database service by Amazon, with the data stored in the Amazon Cloud. There is an unrelated product called SimpleDB developed by Edward Sciore | Ordered key-value store. Core features are complimented by layers. | Popular in-memory data platform used as a cache, message broker, and database that can be deployed on-premises, across clouds, and hybrid environments Redis focuses on performance so most of its design decisions prioritize high performance and very low latencies. | Cassandra and DynamoDB compatible wide column store
Primary database model | Relational DBMS a graph-processing framework is available with the graphs being stored in tables | Key-value store | Document store supported via specific layer Key-value store Relational DBMS supported via specific SQL-layer | Key-value store Multiple data types and a rich set of operations, as well as configurable data expiration, eviction and persistence | Wide column store
