VoltDB is an in-memory, distributed, operational, transactional RDBMS. Scale out on commodity hardware, on-premises or in the cloud. Extremely fast data ingest and very low latency transactions, VoltDB allows companies to run applications that Ingest, Analyze, and Act on lots of fast moving data very quickly. Best classified as a NewSQL solution, it represents the next-generation of RDBMSs. It is available both as open source (GitHub) or under commercial license. It can be used through Amazon's AWS Marketplace, on any other cloud provider (bring your own license), or on-premises with a license from VoltDB.
VoltDB offers reliably consistent low millisecond response times while supporting millions of transactions per second with immediate consistency and full/strict ACID compliance. It offers the speed and scalability of NoSQL but with all the advantages of a SQL database.
|Typical application scenarios|
Used primarily in telco (authorization/authentication, charging, network optimization, OSS/BSS, NFV), financial services/fintech (SLA management, trade regulatory compliance, fraud detection and action), gaming (real-time A/B testing, user profile management, hyper-personalization), Adtech (ad auction processing, sessionization, accurate real-time billing), and IoT (smart meter management, predictive maintenance command/control) or any other application where there is a need or a desire for very consistent low (milliseconds) latencies, high throughput and 100% accurate data that is never lost.
Telco (Openet, HPE, Nokia, many carriers), Financial Services (Huawei FusionInsights, Barclays), Gaming (Peak Games), AdTech (Emagine, TripleLift), IoT (CGI/Logica, Mitsubishi, Nimble Storage)
Customers in various industries worldwide -- US and International, particularly in EMEA and AsiaPac. Billions of transactions per day are executed through VoltDB databases. For example, many cell phone calls across the globe are authorized/authenticated through VoltDB.
|Licensing and pricing models|
Community Edition is open source (AGPL license). VoltDB AWS, VoltDB Pro, and VoltDB Enterprise Editions are commercial license. Pricing can be utility pricing (AWS), user-based or subscription. Contact VoltDB for further details.
