Alibaba Cloud PolarDB System Properties

PolarDB, previously ApsaraDB for PolarDB, is a cloud-native relational database designed for business-critical database applications, . PolarDB provides three editions with different engines:

1. PolarDB for MySQL: 100% compatible with MySQL
   
2. PolarDB for PostgreSQL: 100% compatible with PostgreSQL and highly compatible with Oracle
   
3. PolarDB for Xscale: a distributed version of PolarDB, 100% compatible with MySQL
   

PolarDB provides the performance and availability of traditional enterprise databases and the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of open-source databases. It is the new generation of "Super MySQL, PostgreSQL or compatible Oracle" supporting up to 100 TB storage.

Specification and pricing.

You can use either of the following billing methods to purchase PolarDB clusters.

• Subscription

  Using a subscription billing method, you pay in advance for the compute cluster (for example, a primary node and a read-only node) that you create. Despite the subscription billing method, certain fees are incurred on a pay-as-you-go basis. For example, you are billed for the storage space you use by hour and the charge is deducted from your account balance on an hourly basis.

• Pay-as-you-go (& Serverless)

  Using a pay-as-you-go billing method, you pay for the resources after you use them. Regardless of the compute clusters or storage space, you are billed by hour and the charge is deducted from your account balance on an hourly basis.

China: 10 Regions, including China (Qingdao), China (Beijing), China (Zhangjiakou), China (Hohhot), China (Ulanqab), China (Hangzhou), China (Shanghai), China (Shenzhen), China (Chengdu), China (Hong Kong)

US: 2 Regions, including US (Silicon Valley), US (Virginia)

Europe: 2 Regions, including Germany (Frankfurt), UK (London)

Asia Pacific: 7 Regions, including Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Indonesia (Jakarta), Philippines (Manila), Thailand (Bangkok), Japan (Tokyo), South Korea (Seoul)
