DB-Engines popularity ranking greatly expanded

by Matthias Gelbmann, 5 November 2012
Tags: DB-Engines Ranking

In the new November ranking we have added more than 50 additional database management systems.

One month after the first publication of the DBMS popularity ranking by DB-Engines we have added a large number of systems. For the new November ranking we calculated the popularity of 75 DBMS. You are likely to find your favorite system in the list.

Although some of the new systems rank quite high, we completed the ranking primarily by appending many little known tools. However, these systems often are specialized players in their niches and it will be interesting to see, which ones can rise in popularity in the future.

In order to better differentiate between the systems with lower popularity, we had to slightly modify the calculation of the scores, without changing any of the principles of the scoring method.
